Freedom Papers of William Ridout

William Ridout a colored man of black shade near six feet high having a small scar just above the outer corner of his left eye was raised in Chambersburgh Franklis County Pennsylvania. He was a boy there at the same time with an apparently younger than myself. my age is now twenty eight. His mother was among the old residenters of that place and a free woman. Of his father I have no recolection I believe said William Ridout to have been borne as he now is a freeman.
