I, Charles G Eskridge Clerk of the
County Court of Loudon in the State aforesaid
do hereby certify that Oscar, alias, Oscar
Wright is a free man of color having been emancipated by the last will
and testament of John A. Brims deed of Record in this office) and being
now more than twenty five years of age) the time at which said will
directed that he should be set free) as proved by the oath of Thomas
Lawbaughs the said Oscar is of a dark complexion about six feet and three
quarters inches high has a very large scar on his left knee, a small scar
across the left eye brow about twenty eight years of age and was this
8th day of February 1841 Registered in my office according to law,

At a Court held for Loudon County February 8th 1841 The Register of
